How this website collects, uses, and protects personal information.
Who is responsible
This notice is published by Benden Sonra Otizmle Yaşam Derneği (Life with Autism After Me Association), Düz Mah. Yıldız Sok. No: 10/301, Altınordu, Ordu, Türkiye. Email: bendensonrainfo@gmail.com. Telephone: +90 501 546 52 52.
The association is the controller. It decides why personal information on this website is handled and by what means. The notice is given under Article 10 of Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK). The association has not appointed a data-protection officer, a United Kingdom representative, or a European Union representative.
The statute is published at https://www.mevzuat.gov.tr/mevzuat?MevzuatNo=6698&MevzuatTur=1&MevzuatTertip=5. If you are in the United Kingdom or in California, the rights section below adds the laws that apply to you as a reader.
What this notice covers
It covers https://bendensonra.org and the messages you choose to send us from it. There is no account, no payment on the site, and no newsletter list.
X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Google, and your own email provider have their own notices. This notice stops when you leave for one of those services.
What we handle, and what we do not
We do not run an analytics tool. We do not sell personal information, rent it, or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
The contact form contains your name, email address, telephone number if you add one, subject, and message. You tick a box to say that you agree to this notice.
We do not keep a visitor database that identifies you. The only value stored in the browser is the session flag described below.
The contact form and email
The form does not post what you type to a server run by the association. Submit opens your own email program with the message already written. Nothing reaches us unless you send that email.
If you send it, it arrives at bendensonrainfo@gmail.com, a Gmail inbox. Google processes that mailbox under its own terms.
We use the message only to read it and reply. Under KVKK Article 5 the legal basis is your explicit consent, given by ticking the box and sending the email, together with the need to answer the request you made. Under the UK GDPR the same steps are consent in Article 6(1)(a) and, where it applies, our legitimate interest in replying to you in Article 6(1)(f).
Health and family information
A message may mention an autistic person, a diagnosis, school, or daily care. Health data is a special category under KVKK Article 6, as amended by Law No. 7499 of 2 March 2024, in force from 1 June 2024. It is special-category data under Article 9 of the UK GDPR. In California it can be sensitive personal information under Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.140.
Please write only what we need in order to answer. We do not ask for medical records. We do not use this information for advertising, research, or any other purpose.
Where the law requires a separate consent for health data, the box on the form and the act of sending the email are that consent. You may withdraw it by writing to us. We will stop using the message and delete it, unless we have to keep a copy to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.
The map
Every page includes a Google Map of our address. When the map loads, Google may receive your IP address and set its own cookies. The association does not receive a copy of that technical data. Google’s handling is described at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (PECR) generally requires consent before information is stored on or read from your device, unless it is strictly necessary for a service you requested. The map lets you see where we are. It is not strictly necessary in order to read the pages. If you do not want Google to receive that technical data, stop the page before the map loads, use a browser that blocks third-party cookies, or write to us without using the map. The Regulations are at https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2003/2426/contents.
What stays on your device
For the current visit only, the site stores a sessionStorage value named bsoyd-splash so the opening animation does not play again in that tab. It is removed when the tab closes. It is not a cookie, and it does not contain your name or any similar identifier.
If an older localStorage value named bsoyd-locale is still present, the site deletes it. We do not store a language preference. We do not set analytics cookies.
Social media
The X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube icons are ordinary links. We do not embed their feeds. If you follow a link, that service may see that you came from this site, under its own notice.
Children
The site is written for families and the public. It does not ask a child to create an account or to complete the form. If a message is about a child, a parent or caregiver should be the person who writes.
The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), 15 U.S.C. §§ 6501–6506, limits the collection of personal information from children under 13 in the United States. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a message of that kind has reached us, write to us and we will delete it. The Federal Trade Commission publishes the Rule at https://www.ftc.gov/legal-library/browse/rules/childrens-online-privacy-protection-rule-coppa.
How long we keep correspondence
We keep an email for as long as we need it to answer you and for a short record of what was asked and what we replied. We then delete it. There is no separate visitor database.
You may ask us to delete a message sooner. We will do so unless we must keep it to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.
Sharing and transfers abroad
We do not sell or rent personal information. A message may be read by the board members who need it in order to reply, and by Google, because the inbox is Gmail and the map is Google’s.
Those services may process information outside Türkiye, including in the United States and the European Economic Area. KVKK Article 9 allows a transfer abroad under an adequacy decision, an appropriate safeguard, or a statutory exception. Receiving the email you asked us to receive falls within the exception for a transfer needed to carry out your request. UK GDPR Articles 44 to 49 draw the same kind of line for information that is subject to UK law. The UK GDPR text is at https://www.legislation.gov.uk/eur/2016/679/contents.
The map is different. It loads with the page, and Google may receive technical data before you write to us. We do not control Google’s later use of that technical data. We do not claim that every country in which Google processes data is covered by a UK adequacy regulation.
Your rights
Türkiye. Under KVKK Article 11 you may ask whether we process your personal data, request information if we do, learn the purpose and whether we use it for that purpose, know the recipients in Türkiye or abroad, ask for correction, ask for erasure or destruction under Article 7, ask that a correction or erasure be notified to those recipients, object to a result that is against you and produced solely by automated means, and claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing. An application is made under Article 13, and we reply within 30 days. You may also complain to the Personal Data Protection Board: https://www.kvkk.gov.tr
United Kingdom. Under Articles 15 to 22 of the UK GDPR, read with the Data Protection Act 2018, you may ask for access, correction, erasure, and restriction, and for a copy of the information you gave us. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, and you may withdraw consent at any time. We reply within one month, as Article 12(3) requires, unless the request is complex. You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: https://ico.org.uk. The Data Protection Act 2018 is at https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2018/12/contents.
California. The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, is codified at Cal. Civ. Code §§ 1798.100 and following. The duties in that law attach to a business that meets the revenue, volume, or selling thresholds in § 1798.140. The association is a small organization in Türkiye and does not believe that it meets those thresholds. Even so, anyone, including a California resident, may write to us to know the personal information we hold (§§ 1798.100 and 1798.110), to delete it (§ 1798.105), to correct it (§ 1798.106), to be told that we do not sell or share it (§ 1798.115), to opt out of a sale or a share, which we do not do (§ 1798.120), and to limit the use of sensitive personal information to the reply you asked for (§ 1798.121). We will not treat you differently for asking. Where we answer a request under that statute, we do so within 45 days, as § 1798.130 provides. The California Privacy Protection Agency is at https://cppa.ca.gov, and the Attorney General’s explanation of the law is at https://oag.ca.gov/privacy/ccpa.
How to complain
Write to us first, at the address or the email above. If we do not resolve the request: in Türkiye, complain to the Personal Data Protection Board at https://www.kvkk.gov.tr; in the United Kingdom, complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at https://ico.org.uk; in California, you may contact the California Privacy Protection Agency at https://cppa.ca.gov.
Changes
If the website or the law changes, we will update this notice and change the date at the top. This version is dated 25 October 2026.
